Test results are available to candidates 13 days after the test date. Official results are usually sent by mail.
Unofficial results can be previewed online at https://ielts.britishcouncil.org/CheckResults.aspx. Please note that these are only for notice purposes, and that all institutions or agencies require original Test Report Forms which will be sent after the unofficial results released.
Official results are listed on a Test Report Form (TRF), indicating sub-scores in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and an overall band score which is an average of the four sub-scores. Band scores range from 0 to 9.
IELTS results are released 13 calendar days after the test. This means that results will be released on the second Friday following a Saturday test and the second Wednesday following a Thursday test. Please note that only one copy goes directly to the candidate.
Each candidate is sent one copy to the home address provided, and has the option of applying for five additional copies of the test result form. These copies are free of charge if they are included on the application. The additional test report forms will not be sent to the candidates themselves, but to academic institutions, government agencies, professional bodies or employers that require it.
Candidates may order other additional copies at a later date, up to within two years of the test date which your result will still be valid, by submitting an request at https://www3.conestogac.on.ca/ielts/trfapplication.jsp. An administration charge of $20.00 CAD per copy and additional courier fee will be charged for this service.
Test results are valid for two years from the date of the test.
Review of Test Results
If you feel that the marks you have received are unjust, you may file an Enquiry on Results (EoR) request to have your test remarked. A letter stating clearly which section(s) test takers want to be reviewed, the reasons for review and the facts which test takers consider are relevant to the review. This letter must be accompanied by a money order in the amount of $226.00 (this includes the $75 international courier fee to British Council) and made payable to Conestoga College or by credit card using the “EOR-Payment Authorization”. Test takers’ full contact address, postal code and daytime telephone number must be provided on the payment form for EOR. And you will be required an original Test Report Form (a copy is not acceptable)
The review is conducted by a Senior Examiner. If the review results in no change to the score, the review fee will be charged and the candidate’s Test Report Form (TRF) will be returned. If the review results in an increase to the score, the review fee will be returned and revised TRFs will be sent to the candidate and all receiving institutions.
