IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s proven English language test.
IELTS was one of the pioneers of the four skills of English language testing over 25 years ago, and continues to set the standard for English language testing today.
IELTS is accepted as evidence of English language proficiency by over 9,000 organisations worldwide. Last year, more than 2.2 million tests were taken globally. IELTS is recognised as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of true-to-life ability to communicate in English for education, immigration and professional accreditation.
There are two modules to the IELTS test — Academic (AC) and General Training (GT). Prior to taking the test, it is important that test takers determine which is the most appropriate module for their circumstances. If test takers discover that they have taken the wrong module after the test has been written, there is no possibility of a refund.
There is no limit to how many times you may register to sit the IELTS test.
Your official Test Report Form (TRF) will be released on the 13th day after the test. Please see the Test Date and Results Chart for the recommended test dates in order that you have your TRFs sent to the receiving organizations by the application deadlines.
